The Las Vegas residency is part of a broader promotional campaign for “Songs for a Nervous Planet,” a live album featuring performances recorded during the band’s 2023 “Tipping Point Tour.” The album includes live renditions of classic hits like “Shout,” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and “Head Over Heels,” alongside four new studio tracks, including “The Girl That I Call Home” and “Astronaut.”
This album follows the release of their critically acclaimed 2022 album, “The Tipping Point,” which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. The album marked Tears for Fears’ return to the top of the charts after a 17-year hiatus.
Tears for Fears, formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, achieved international success in the 1980s with the release of their albums “The Hurting” (1983) and “Songs from the Big Chair” (1985). The latter featured two of the band’s most iconic hits, “Shout” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” both of which became global anthems.
After a period of internal conflict in the early 1990s, the duo reunited in the early 2000s and continued to tour and release new music.
